Tools Needed: Plastic Spudger, Tweezers, Phillips Head Screwdriver

1. Remove the Bottom Cover / Palmrest

• Remove the 9 screws from the bottom cover.
• Push the plastic spudger into the space between the palmrest and bottom cover. Push in until you hear a click.
• Run the spudger around the edge of the palmrest until the palmrest and the bottom cover are separated.

2. Remove the Battery Cable

Use the tweezers to gently pull the cable away from the motherboard.

3. Remove the Palmrest and Touchpad Cables

• Use the tweezers to push the black tabs out and away from the motherboard.
• Use the tweezers to pull the cables away from the motherboard.
• Place the plastic spudger under the tabs and gently push up.
• Use the tweezers to pull the cable up and away from the motherboard.

4. Remove the Screws and Metal Tabs

• Use the plastic spudger to gently pry and lift the tabs off the frame of the unit
• Remove the tabs and screws

5. Remove the LCD Cable from the Motherboard

• Use the tweezers to pull the tape off of the connector.
• Use the plastic spudger to lift the black tab on the connector, then gently pull the LCD cable up and away from the motherboard.

6. Remove the Speaker Cable

• Push on the sides of the connector with the plastic spudger to separate the speaker cable from the motherboard.

7. Remove the WiFi Cables

• Use the tweezers to gently pull the cables up from the WiFi connector.

8. Remove the Daughter Board Cables

• Use the tweezers to gently lift the black tabs on the Motherboard
• Remove the daughter board cables from the Motherboard

9. Remove the Internal Parts

• Use your hands to gently pull the motherboard and battery off of the palmrest.
• Use the plastic spudger to separate the speakers from the palm rest, then remove them.

10. Remove the Touchpad

• Remove the 3 screws from around the edge of the touchpad.
• Carefully remove the tape stuck to the touchpad.
• Use your hands to gently pull the touchpad out of the palmrest.

11. Remove the Bezel

• Remove the four screws from under the stickers on the left and right sides of the bezel.
• Press a spudger into the space between the bezel and back cover until you hear a click, then run the spudger around the edge of the bezel until the bezel and the back cover are separated.

12. Remove the LCD Panel

• Remove all four screws on the LCD.
• Use your hands to lift the LCD away from the back cover.

13. Remove the LCD Cable

• Use the tweezers to pull the tape off of the connector on the back of the LCD.
• Use the tweezers to pull the LCD cable out of the connector.

14. Remove the Hinges

• Remove the 6 screws from around the hinges.
• Gently use the plastic spudger to separate the hinges from the back cover.
• After they are detached, use your hands to pull the hinges away from the back cover.

15. Remove the Camera 

• To remove the camera cable from the camera, use your hand to carefully pull the cable away from the camera.
• Gently push the plastic spudger into the gap between the back cover and the camera.
  Push up very slowly on both sides of the camera until they separate from the back cover.
