1. Remove the Palmrest
- Remove 9 screws from the bottom cover. Note that 1 of the screws will be behind a sticker.
- On the right corner nearest to the hinge, gently push the plastic spudger into the gap between the palmrest and the bottom.
- Slowly push up until you hear a click.
- Run the spudger around the edge of the palmrest until the palmrest and the bottom cover are separated.
Before removing any internal parts you will have to disconnect the cables that attach them to the other parts. The next few steps will detail this process.
2. Remove Palmrest and Touchpad Cables
- Place the plastic spudger under the black tabs and gently push up.
- Use the tweezers to gently push the cable up and pull it away from the motherboard.
3. Remove the LCD Cable from the Motherboard
- Remove the tape from the connector.
- Use the tweezers to gently push up and pull the LCD cable away from the motherboard.
4. Remove the Daughterboard Cable
- Use the tweezers remove the tape that is attached to daughterboard.
- Use the plastic spudger to push up on the tab.
- Use the tweezers to pull the cable away from the motherboard.
5. Remove the Battery Cable
- Place the tweezers as shown and pull the battery cable away from the motherboard.
6. Remove WiFi Card Cable
- Use the tweezers to gently push up on the Wi-Fi cable.
Now that all of the cables are disconnected the computer can be disassembled.
7. Disconnect the Speaker Cable and Remove Internal Parts
- Gently pull up on the motherboard with your hands and disconnect the speaker cable by pulling it away from the motherboard.
- Use your hands to pull the daughterboard, motherboard, and battery out of the bottom cover.
8. Remove the Speakers from the Bottom Cover
- Place the plastic spudger behind the speakers and push up slowly. There is strong tape holding the speakers in place so it may take some time to remove them.
9.Remove the LCD Assembly from the Bottom Cover
- Use your hands to gently pull up on the LCD assembly until it separates from the bottom cover.
10. Remove the Bezel
- Remove the 2 screws behind the small stickers.
- On the right top corner, gently push the plastic spudger into the gap between the bezel and the back cover.
- Slowly push up until you hear a click.
- Run the spudger around the edge of the bezel until the bezel and the back cover are separated. Note that there may be some tape holding them together.
11. Remove the Hinge Cover
- Gently push the plastic spudger into the gap between the back cover and the hinge cover until they separate.
12. Remove the LCD Cable and the Screen.
- Remove all 4 screws on the LCD screen.
- Gently push the plastic spudger into the gap between the back cover and the LCD screen.
- Slowly push up until the screen separates from the back cover.
- Remove the tape from the connector.
- Use the tweezers to gently pull the cable up and away from the screen.
13. Remove the Hinges
- Remove 8 screws from around the hinges.
- Gently push the plastic spudger into the gap between the hinges and the back cover.
- Slowly push up until they separate.
- Use your hands to pull up on the hinges until they are free of the main section.
14. Remove the Camera and Microphone
- Gently push the plastic spudger into the gap between the back cover and the camera.
- Slowly push on both sides until they seperate from the back cover.
- Use the tweezers to pull the cable away from the camera.
